Walker Integrated Wellness offers individual and couples therapy. At this time, I am only working with adults due to my limited availability. I do believe children experience more benefit from in person counseling and I am not able to offer in person at this time. I encourage you to set up a free consultation prior to starting services so we can talk about the pros and cons of the individual and couples dynamic to find the right service for you.
I created Walker Integrated Wellness with the vision to expand and offer more whole health services in the future. My hope is that Walker Integrated Wellness can become a space for all to come together to meet their mental, physical, social, spiritual, and community needs. After a year of only offering counseling, I am excited to begin offering health coaching in September 2024!
Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional. Due to my own physical health struggles, I have researched and then personally used an integrative health approach to heal my body, which in turn has benefited my mental health. I have used, and continue to research and use with myself daily, integrative approaches so that as a mental health counselor, I can provide psychoeducation to my interested clients. I am not a medical doctor and cannot give medical advice, so if you are interested in this approach, I recommend you sign a release with your medical provider so I can coordinate care with them. I can provide research and education that you can review with them to find the best and safest approach for your specific needs.
During your first session, also known as the intake assessment, your therapist will ask you questions to get to know you better and understand what brings you to counseling. You and your therapist will set goals for your time spent together. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the counseling process.
An individual counseling session with Walker Integrated Wellness lasts for 53 minutes and a couples session lasts for 50 minutes, although session length may vary depending on your specific needs and preferences. I ask that you are mindful of the time so that we can be respectful to the next client to make sure their session can start on time.
Unfortunately, I do not. I am not credentialed with any Medicaid or Medicare insurance plan. If you still have questions about me accepting your insurance, please include your insurance plan in your initial correspondence with me to clarify before scheduling a consultation.
When starting your own business, the name is so important! My last name is Walker, I embody an Integrated approach to Wellness, so WIW seemed like the perfect name. When I was sketching the logo, I envisioned the peaks and valleys of the mountains. Hiking is one of my favorite activities and a place I do my deepest thinking and feel the most connected in body and mind. In life, we will have our mountain peak seasons, and we will have our valley seasons. I want Walker Integrated Wellness to be a place to celebrate with you those mountain peak moments and be there by your side to walk in the valleys, so that you can return to those peaks once again.
